Antidote for disappointment
Last week, I got really shaken by feedback on a piece of my work. My immediate reaction was to express my 'devastation' and to ask for another go at it. But the weekend was a good reprieve from such agonising as I implored God to fill me with His peace and to help me to get a proper perspective. True, my Pride was dented and sometimes, the more 'senior' and experienced one becomes, the prouder one gets. This is another good lesson in humility. This resounds with another verse that stands out : "He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God" (Micah 6: 8)
